18 Ways to Stop Cat Urine Odor Problems

This week's product is the excellent book from Nancy Wigal, 18 Ways To Stop Cat Urine Odor Problems .  In it, she tells of the long months of living with cat urine smell and the many interviews and conversations she had to learn why her adopted female cat, Scout (who she later took to calling Princess Piss Pot) was peeing in her house and not in the litter box that she provided for her.

After only 30 days, using the techniques that she teaches in her book, her precious Scout rewarded her investigation and perseverance with using her litter box, and she hasn't had a recurrence of the problem. 

The sections devoted to cleaning up and removing the odor are given cursory but adequate coverage, but the most important tip is so important I will share it with you here, and that is to NEVER USE CHLORINE BLEACH TO CLEAN A URINE SPOT!  This is because the combination of the ammonia in the urine with the chlorine can cause a chemical reaction that produces chlorine gas, which is so deadly that it is one of the poisonous gasses they used in World War I!!!   So whatever you do, don't use chlorine bleach.

Therefore, since stopping a recurrence of a problem is half way to solving it, I am very happy to give Nancy's book my recommendation for this week.
